So I've never really told you plainly what I believe exactly. To be honest I was kind of scared. Scared that you might stop following my blog or not want to be my friend anymore. Scared that some of you may try to argue with me. Scared that you might get mad. But I've realized that even if that happens I know I did what God wants me to do. Just so we're clear, I'm not trying to bash any of you that believe differently I'm just telling you what I personally believe. If you agree with some of my beliefs or none at all is between you and God.
Now here is what I believe...
I believe that the Authorized King James version of the bible is God's word and final authority (click here to see why I believe that). It was written by men whom God inspired and is His revealing of Himself to man. It is perfect because it has God for its author, was inspired by God, was preserved by Him, and is truth without any error. Psalm 12:6, 7."The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and that they are God in three persons. 1 John 5:7, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
I believe that you must be saved by faith. Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
I believe that once we are saved we are always saved. John 10:28, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
I believe that baptism is what we should to do AFTER we are saved. Mark 16:16, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."
I believe in the second coming of the Lord. Revelation 1:7, "Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen."

I love this Chas, it is so true amen amen to that I believe on the Lord Jesus and his words. I am a born again christian and have the same belief and encourage you to speak the true gospel!! The True Doctrine
ReplyDeleteHey Chasity :) I believe all this and think its great you spoke up about it ;) I have something in me that just loves to proclaim it all. I just want to walk down the street telling people my beliefs. That's probably the wrong way to approach it but I'm just crazy about it. I do have one question though, is there something you don't like about the other translations? I think some of them can get kind of from the main Word itself and that King James Version is probably as close as we will get to the original, though I think it's also good just to word it in different ways. I love reading The Message but I just take it as a Bible study kind of, not necessarily the Bible... if that sounds right... ;) I was just curious. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, there is something I don't like about the other versions. Three reasons why: 1. They change the verses because they think they're "too hard to understand" which changes the meaning, 2. They completely take out some verses which they think "shouldn't be there," and 3. They weren't inspired by God. Here's a question for you: if someone took one of your favorite books and rewrote it to their liking, took out what they didn't like, added what they thought would make it better and gave it back to you would you want it? I would hope you would say, "NO!" Why wouold you want a book that was altered and rewritten by someone who wasn't the real author? You see that's what has happened with all the other versions: they've been corrupted. God said He would preserve His word and that's the Authorized Version 1611 King James Bible. Go to this site for further information on it: http://www.av1611.org/kjv/knowkjv.html
DeleteI hope I've got you thinking about this and searching it out for yourself. =)
Yeah I understand. I know that the NIV has parts taken out so I've never used it. And I agree when they re word it to help people understand it can get far off from the original and the meaning can be changed but if use other studies and look further into the verses from other versions and not just take itbfor what it is or says it can still be used. Do you think no ones ever been saved by reading New King James or any others? I grew up on New King James. I just know a lot of people can be intimidated by the thees and thous etc, and just need it to be put in a way they can understand. And I know I haven't looked into them as much as I should but liken I said I take some if them just as study books because I assume they're far off. I hope I don't sound rude cause I don't mean it that way :) jusy love discussing it
DeleteNo, I don't think you can only get saved out of the King James Version. I know people who have been saved from many different versions. My parents didn't have the KJV when they got saved and they used a few different versions when they were newly saved. You get saved by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart and yes that's from the bible but sometimes you don't always have it with you and you can still lead someone to the Lord. I didn't get saved after reading the bible but God was pricking my heart and I had learned from church and my parents what to do. But if you believe the KJV to be the true word of God why would you want to use a version that's been corrupted as a study guide when there's lots of study compions for the KJV, King James study bibles, and cross references for that matter? I know some people think the "thees" and "thous" are hard to understand but they obviously know what they mean and if it were say Pride and Prejudice they wouldn't think it was too hard to read/understand. I think just a lot of them want what's easy so they don't have to do a lot when it somes to reading the bible and living it.
DeleteBy the way you don't seem rude. I know you're just giving your viewpoint. I hope you know I'm not trying to be rude or anything either. And I'm glad you're willing to discuss this. =)
Yeah, I know what you mean. And I didn't really mean that people got saved just from reading the Bible, I mean its just that even though KJV is most likely the closest to the original as possible, other versions are being read and sharing the gospel which is what is most important. So yeah, I believe that KJV is the Word of God, and I agree its closest to the original, but I am curious as to why you think the KJV is the closest? Cause I honestly don't know haha. When I say that I think it is closest to the original in Hebrew etc, that is only my opinion. I know that KJV was written longer ago and more word for word etc... but I was just wondering if you had any specific points because like I said I haven't put as much thought into it as I should have.
DeleteI knew that's what you meant. This is what I believe about the KJV: God promised in Psalms 12:7 that He would preserve His word, "Thou shalt KEEP them, O LORD, thou shalt PRESERVE them from this generation FOR EVER." And God keeps His promise. I believe, without a doubt, the King James Bible is the preserved word of God. And the new versions are satanic counterfeits to cast doubt, cause confusion and ATTACK THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. What good is God's word if it only exists in manuscripts which no longer exist? Why would God inspire Scripture just to let it wither to dust? Before the first new perversion was published in 1881 (the RV,) the King James Bible was published, preached, and taught throughout the world. God blessed these efforts and hundreds of millions were saved. Today, with the many new translations on the market, very few are being saved. The great revivals are over. Who has gained the most from the new versions, God or Satan?
DeleteSearch this matter out with a desire for the truth. For a few minutes, set aside any notions about "the message being there," or "translating the thought of a passage," or using one version for study and another for devotions. Think for a while about Christ's words: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God... Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." (Matthew 4:4; 24:35)
I believe the same thing! Wow! Thanks for being so bold and publishing this post! Wonderful post!
